West Point, GA. Feb. 13, 2008 – Accelegrow Technologies, Inc., (www.accelegrow.com), announced today that William H. (Bill) Camp has joined the Board of Directors of the West Point, Ga.-based agri-science Company.
Mr. Camp retired at the end of 2007 as Executive Vice President - Asian Strategy from Archer Daniels Midland, with 30 years’ experience in the agricultural industry. Headquartered in Decatur, Ill., ADM had over 27,000 employees in more than 240 processing plants and net sales of $44 billion for its 2007 fiscal year. In announcing Mr. Camp’s appointment to the Accelegrow Technologies Board of Directors, Chairman and CEO Gerald B. Before his assignment as Executive Vice President - Asian Strategy, Mr. Camp served as Executive Vice President - Global Processing from 2005, responsible for global manufacturing, grain handling and transportation operations, and as Executive Vice President - Global Manufacturing from 2003. He was elected Senior Vice President in 2001, with responsibilities for ADM’s global oil seeds, cocoa and wheat milling operations. He was elected an ADM corporate vice president in 1993 and was named President - ADM Transportation, overseeing ADM barge operations, the American River Transportation Company (ARTCO) and ADM trucking. Before being named EVP - Global Manufacturing, he served as President - ADM South American Division and President - ADM North American Oilseed Processing division. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois.
In November last year, ADM Chairman and CEO Patricia Woertz acknowledged Mr. Camp as “a valued member of the ADM leadership team for over 20 years. During that time, his extensive business knowledge and sound judgment have significantly contributed to our leadership in agricultural processing and bioenergy.”
According to Mr. Andrews, Accelegrow will optimize Mr. Camp’s strong perspective in American heartland, as well as Asian and South American, agriculture. “We also greatly value his ADM background in dealing with major world food crops, biofuels, bioenergy issues and global strategies for manufacturing, merchandising and transportation. This will be a significant boost to our Accelegrow marketing program and will certainly enhance our research and development initiatives.”
